I was pleased when Shawn, my 17-year-old, came home with a pair of good-looking plaid shorts from Deseret Industries for $4.00 without me asking him to check out the second-hand store before going to a regular-priced store. Over the years, it has saved our family $’s by implementing the rule: shop 2nd- hand before shopping full-price stores. I was very happy that some of my advice is not falling to deaf ears.
